# Connect your own AI assistant

*Let Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant read your books through MCP.*

AXO includes an MCP server — MCP is a standard way for AI assistants to use outside tools. Connect your own assistant and ask about your business from wherever you already use it.

**What your assistant can do**

| get_invoice | One invoice in detail |
| get_trial_balance | Your trial balance |
| get_cash_forecast | Your cash forecast |

| create_draft_invoice | Prepare an invoice as a draft — never posted |

**Connect it**

1. Go to **Settings › Integrations** and open **Connect Claude or any MCP client**.
2. Create a key from that card. It's given exactly the permissions the tools need.
3. Copy the configuration shown and add it to your AI assistant.
4. Ask your assistant a question about your books.

**Which plans include it**

Reading your books through MCP is included from Professional. Creating draft invoices through MCP needs Business.

> **Important:** The key gives access to your company's data. Keep it private. If it's ever exposed, revoke it in **Settings › Integrations › API keys**. Anything your assistant prepares still has to be posted by a person.
