# Connect an integration

*Connect by pasting a key or by signing in, then test it.*

| Type of connection | What you do |
|---|---|
| API key | Create a key in the other service and paste it into AXO |
| Sign in | Sign in to the other service and allow access — there's no key to copy |
| No setup | Turn it on — the exchange-rate feed, for example |

1. Open the integration's card and choose **Connect**.
2. Paste the key, or sign in, as the card asks.
3. Choose **Test connection**. AXO confirms it can reach the service.
4. Choose **Sync now** for the first sync. After that it syncs on a schedule.

**Keeping an eye on it**

Each connection shows its last sync and its status. If one stops working — because a key was revoked, say — it's marked as failed with the reason, and administrators are alerted. Reconnect from the card.

> **Important:** Keys you paste are encrypted before they're stored, and they're never shown again or sent back to your browser.

> **Note:** Syncing again never creates duplicates. Records AXO has already brought in are recognised and skipped.
