# Employees and salary privacy

*Employee records, and how AXO keeps pay and personal details private.*

Each employee record holds personal and job details, pay, tax details and the bank account their salary goes to.

**Who can see pay**

Salaries, ID numbers, bank details and contact details are hidden by default. Only people with the payroll permission can reveal them, one at a time. A revealed figure isn't stored on screen, and it's hidden again when you leave the page.

| HR Manager | Yes |
| Accountant | No |
| Employee | Their own payslip only |
| All other roles | No |

> **Note:** Salary figures never appear in lists, the side panel or the Inbox for anyone without the payroll permission.
