# Invite your team

*Add colleagues by email and give each person only the access they need.*

1. Go to **Settings › Users & roles**.
2. Choose **Invite user**, enter their work email and pick a role.
3. They receive an email from AXO with a link to join. Invitations expire after 7 days.
4. When they accept, they join with the role you chose.

Pending invitations are listed in the side panel on Settings pages until they're accepted or expire.

**Choosing roles**

AXO has ten built-in roles. Give each person the narrowest role that lets them do their job — the owner role is for the people who run the business, not for everyone. See [Roles and permissions](https://docs.tryaxo.com/roles-permissions.md).

> **Note:** If an invitation doesn't arrive, ask the person to check their spam folder, then resend it from Users & roles.

> **Note:** Each plan includes a number of users. Deactivating someone frees their seat straight away. See [Users and usage limits](https://docs.tryaxo.com/usage-limits.md).
