# Invoice statuses

*What each status means, and how an invoice moves from draft to paid.*

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being prepared. Not in your books yet. |
| Pending | Submitted and waiting for approval. |
| Approved | Posted to the ledger. Counts as money owed to you. |
| Partially paid | Part of the amount has been received. |
| Paid | Settled in full. |
| Voided | Cancelled by reversal. Kept for the audit trail. |

Overdue isn't a separate status. Any approved or partially paid invoice past its due date shows a red label with how many days overdue it is, and appears under the **Overdue** filter.

**Inside an invoice**

Open an invoice to see its totals and tabs for line items, tax breakdown, payments, activity — who did what, and when — and **GL**, which shows the exact journal entries the invoice created.
