# Sign-in security

*Protect your account with two-step sign-in or a passkey.*

- **Authenticator app** — after your password, enter a code from an app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
- **Passkey** — sign in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN.

We strongly recommend two-step sign-in for owners and for anyone who can approve payments.

**If your email belongs to more than one company**

If you work with several companies on AXO under the same email address, AXO asks which company you're signing in to.

**Locked out after failed attempts**

After several failed attempts, sign-in is paused for a short time. Wait a few minutes and try again, or reset your password.

> **Important:** AXO will never ask for your password by email, phone or chat.
