Moving to AXOFFICE

How to bring your existing books into AXO, and what to check before you start working in it.

You can bring across your chart of accounts, customers, vendors, items and opening balances. Nothing is written to your books until you've seen a preview and approved it.

The steps

  1. Choose a cut-over date — usually the end of a month, or better, the end of your financial year.
  2. Export everything from your old system as at that date, including a trial balance.
  3. Import your chart of accounts, customers and vendors.
  4. Import your opening balances and check the opening trial balance.
  5. Compare AXO's balance sheet with your old system's for the same date.
  6. Start working in AXO from the day after the cut-over.

What keeps it safe

  • Every import shows a preview first. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
  • Opening balances must balance — debits equal to credits — before they can post.
  • Rows with problems are listed by line number so you can fix them.
  • Importing the same file twice is spotted, and you choose what happens.
  • Imported balances arrive as a draft. Posting them is your decision.
